Can I mix different formats?

Yes - each clip is decoded first, so MP3 + WAV + M4A merge fine. Different sample rates are resampled to match automatically.

Is there a gap between clips?

No - clips are joined seamlessly end to end. Trim silence off individual clips first with the Audio Trimmer if needed.
