Frequently asked questions

What resolution are the JPGs?

Pages are rendered at 2× scale (roughly 150 DPI for a standard page) - crisp for screens and documents.

Can I convert a 100-page PDF?

Yes - pages are processed one at a time in your browser, with progress shown. Large files just take a little longer.

Convert PDF pages into images you can actually use

PDFs are great for documents and terrible for everything else - you can't paste a PDF into a slide, post it to Instagram, or set it as a product image. This converter renders each page of your PDF into a high-quality JPG, right in your browser. The rendering uses the same engine browsers use to display PDFs, so what you get is pixel-faithful to what you see.

As with all our file tools, the PDF never leaves your device - relevant when the pages you're extracting come from contracts or reports.

Resolution: the setting that matters

The quality slider controls the render resolution. For screen use - slides, chat, web pages - the default is ideal and keeps files small. For printing or zooming into detail, raise it: pages render at up to 3× scale, which gives roughly 200-300 DPI on a standard page, sharp enough to reprint.

Multi-page PDFs convert in one go and download as individually numbered JPGs, so a 30-page deck becomes 30 correctly-ordered images without renaming anything by hand.

JPG or PNG output?

JPG is the right choice for pages containing photos or scans, and for anywhere file size matters. If your pages are mostly sharp text and line art and you want the crispest possible edges - or need transparency - use our PDF to PNG tool instead; PNG is lossless and renders text without any compression fuzz. Both tools work identically, so switching is just a click.
